Haven & Oak - Service Business - Website Build Example

A refined, design-led website concept created to show how a premium joinery business can translate craftsmanship, attention to detail and architectural thinking into an equally considered online experience.

Haven & Oak Joinery was created as a South Star Designs sample project - built to demonstrate how thoughtful design, strong visual storytelling and clear positioning can elevate a custom joinery business beyond the typical trade website.

Built to feel as considered as the spaces it represents.

For a premium joinery business, the website is part of the experience.

Potential clients aren't simply looking for someone who can build cabinetry. They're looking for confidence that the people behind the business understand proportion, materials, functionality, detail and the way a space should ultimately feel.

Haven & Oak Joinery was designed around that expectation.

Rather than approaching the business like a traditional trade website, we created an experience that feels closer to an architectural or interior design brand - refined, spacious and intentionally understated.

The result is a website designed to make the craftsmanship feel valuable before a potential client has even made contact.

What do I do next?

The Coastal Edge Roofing concept was designed around those questions.

From the opening headline - “Protect Your Home From the Top Down” - through to services, project transformations and inspection calls-to-action, every section has a clear purpose.

The Website Concept

Premium joinery is highly considered work, and the website needed to reflect that.

Instead of overwhelming visitors with services, promotions and competing calls-to-action, the Haven & Oak concept uses space, typography, imagery and carefully paced content to create a more confident experience.

The opening message - “Spaces Made for the Way You Live” - positions the business around the outcome rather than simply the product.

From there, visitors can explore the work, understand what the business creates and discover the thinking behind its process.

Every section is designed to reinforce the same idea:

This isn't cabinetry selected from a catalogue. It's joinery designed around the home and the people living in it.

What We Built

This sample project explores what a digital presence for a premium joinery and cabinetry business can look like when the website is treated as an extension of the brand.

High-end editorial visual direction

Custom kitchens and cabinetry positioning

Architectural project imagery

Clear service categories

Craftsmanship-led messaging

A considered project process

Strong mobile-responsive experience

Subtle interactive details and movement

Clear pathways to explore projects and make an enquiry

The goal wasn't to make the website look expensive.

It was to make every detail feel intentional.

Warm neutral tones, timber-inspired colours, refined typography, strong photography and generous spacing work together to create an experience that feels calm, established and design-led.

The website gives the work room to speak for itself while still guiding potential clients towards the information they need to take the next step.

The Challenge

A premium joinery website needs to achieve something very different from a typical trade website.

The business still needs to communicate what it does and generate enquiries - but it also needs to justify the level of craftsmanship, detail and investment associated with custom work.

01.

Communicate Quality Immediately

Before reading a paragraph of copy, a potential client should already have an impression of the standard of the business.

The design needed to feel refined from the first screen without becoming cold, overly minimal or disconnected from the warmth of residential interiors.

Large architectural imagery, restrained typography and a warm material-inspired palette establish that positioning immediately.

02.

Sell The Thinking, Not Just The Cabinetry

Custom joinery isn't simply about cupboards, drawers and benchtops.

The value is in how a space is planned, how materials work together, how storage is integrated and how the finished result responds to the way the client actually lives.

The website therefore focuses on design, craftsmanship and process rather than simply presenting a catalogue of products.

03.

Create A Premium Enquiry Journey

High-value projects rarely begin with an impulse purchase.

Potential clients need time to explore previous work, understand the business and become confident that the team shares their expectations.

The website was designed to support that journey naturally - allowing visitors to discover, explore and build trust before being guided towards making contact.

HOW WE SOLVED IT

The Solution

A refined digital experience designed to position Haven & Oak as a premium joinery brand while making its services, approach and craftsmanship easy to understand.

01

An Architectural Visual Identity.

The design uses warm whites, natural timber tones, restrained brass accents and editorial typography to create a visual identity influenced more by architecture and interiors than traditional trade websites.

Generous negative space allows the photography and typography to become part of the experience rather than competing for attention.

02

Services Without The Clutter.

The website clearly introduces the key areas of work — custom kitchens, architectural joinery, wardrobes, bathroom vanities and whole-home cabinetry — without turning the page into a long list of services.

Each category is presented simply, allowing potential clients to quickly understand the scope of the business while preserving the high-end visual experience.

03

Photography As The Proof.

With premium joinery, the finished work is one of the strongest credibility signals available. Large-format imagery gives materials, proportions, cabinetry details and completed spaces the prominence they deserve.

Rather than filling the website with claims about quality, the visual experience allows visitors to see the level of work the brand is intended to represent.

04

A Process That Builds Confidence.

Custom joinery can be a significant investment, so understanding what happens after making contact matters. The website introduces a considered process built around consultation, design, refinement, craftsmanship, installation and final handover.

This helps transform what could feel like a complicated project into a clear, considered experience from beginning to end.

DESIGNED AROUND THE CUSTOMER JOURNEY

From Inspiration to Enquiry

Every stage of the Haven & Oak concept was designed around how someone considering custom joinery is likely to experience the business.

01

Discover

A potential client arrives on the website and immediately understands the positioning: custom kitchens, cabinetry and architectural joinery designed for considered Sunshine Coast homes.

The visual presentation establishes the level of the brand before the visitor begins exploring the details.

02

Imagine

Project imagery, materials and interior spaces allow visitors to picture what custom joinery could look like within their own home.

Instead of simply explaining what the business can manufacture, the website helps communicate what those spaces could become.

03

Understand

Service information and the project process give visitors a clearer understanding of what Haven & Oak creates and how a custom project moves from an initial idea through design, manufacture and installation.

This removes uncertainty without overwhelming the visitor with technical detail.

04

Enquire

Once the visitor understands the work, the approach and the standard of the brand, clear calls-to-action provide a natural pathway towards discussing their own project.

The enquiry becomes the next step in the experience — rather than a sales interruption.

Why We Built Haven & Oak Joinery

Haven & Oak Joinery isn't a commissioned client website.

We created it to demonstrate what South Star Designs can build for businesses operating at the premium end of construction, cabinetry, interiors and home improvement.

Great craftsmanship can easily be undervalued when the website representing it feels generic.

A business might produce beautiful kitchens, detailed architectural joinery and exceptional custom work - but if the website looks the same as every other cabinetmaker in the area, potential clients may never recognise that difference.

Haven & Oak demonstrates what happens when the digital experience is designed to match the standard of the physical work.

Better presentation doesn't change the craftsmanship.

It changes how quickly people recognise its value.
